Famine Art in KS2
28th Jan 2026
Our P5-P7 pupils have been busy creating fantastic Irish Famine cottages as part of their art project this term. This work links with the P5/P6 topic on the Famine and supports the P7 study of the novel Wildflower Girl and their wider learning about Ireland. The pupils began by carefully planning their designs, sketching out ideas, and gathering recyclable materials to bring their cottages to life. Working in groups, they showed wonderful creativity, problem solving, and cooperation as they built their models. The finished cottages are a credit to their hard work—beautiful, imaginative, and full of unique detail! Well done!
