General Information
Nestled in a peaceful and picturesque rural setting, St. Patrick’s Primary School, Aughadarragh, lies approximately four miles from Augher, near the Tyrone-Monaghan border. Established in 1964, the school serves the local community and surrounding areas, with some pupils travelling from neighbouring villages. Children travel to school by bus, taxi and car.
Currently, the school has an enrolment of 86 pupils. The dedicated staff includes a Teaching Principal and three full-time teachers, each bringing a wealth of experience, academic qualifications, and personal interests that enrich the educational experience. They are supported by a committed team of support staff, including a school secretary, caretaker, canteen staff and classroom assistants.
The main school building features a spacious Foundation Stage classroom, a dining room, staffroom, and toilet facilities. In November 2016, two modern modular buildings were added, replacing the older mobile units. These new facilities include three contemporary classrooms, an office, and additional toilets.
The school grounds are well-maintained throughout the year and include a front play yard and a football pitch to the side. These spaces are used for a wide range of sporting, academic, and community activities, contributing to the vibrant life of the school.
